Psy's 'Gentleman' Music Video Reaches 800 Million Views On YouTube

Korean singer Psy keeps racking up numbers on YouTube.

"Gentleman," the singer's follow up to his global phenomenon "Gangnam Style," has been viewed over 800 million times on YouTube. The video is the tenth most viewed video on YouTube, following Katy Perry's "Roar" at number nine.

YG Entertainment, Psy's entertainment agency, shared the news on Psy's official Facebook page. The post showed an image of Psy saying "thank you!" to his fans throughout the world who helped him achieve his latest landmark.

"Gentleman" features Psy and Brown Eyed Girls member Ga-In, along with cameos by many other Korean stars.

Psy shot to global fame when his song "Gangnam Style" went viral in 2012. The video for "Gangnam Style" became the most watched video in the world on YouTube in 2012, overtaking Justin Bieber's music video for his song "Baby." The song has since become the first video in Internet history to be viewed both one and two billion times.

As of February 22, 2015, "Gangnam Style" has over 2,250 billion views, while "Gentleman" has 800 thousand since its release in 2013.

Psy joined YG Entertainment 2010, two years prior to "Gangnam Style" becomming an international sensation.

Following the release of "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman," Psy released "Hangover" in 2014; the video has been viewed over 180 million times.

YG Entertainment announced that Psy will release a new single, "Daddy" in 2015. The song has had several release dates, after which YG Entertainment announced that it will be included in Psy's 2015 album.

Psy will reportedly release the new album following the comeback of fellow YG Entertainment act, Big Bang. YG Entertainment announced that Big Bang will make a comeback in April, and said that other YG Entertainment acts will promote later in the year.
