First Look At ‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ In Unreal Engine 4 Revealed By Square Enix? New Gameplay Features Keyblade Armor Inbound!

"Kingdom Hearts 3" won't be released anytime soon, but, the team of Square Enix is working hard to optimize the game as they will use the Unreal Engine 4. Also, new gameplay addition is rumored to be on its way, the Keyblade Armor.

Co-director and game designer of "Kingdom Hearts 3" Tai Yasue spoke with Eurogamer how his team is incorporating the Unreal Engine 4 game design engine.

"The technology is moving forward a lot," he said. "That's something we've learned from the West, I think, in a big way. We're using Unreal Engine 4 right now, and that really has changed the way we make the game."

Luminous Engine, the previous game engine that powered the first and second "Kingdom Hearts" game, is bidding farewell. Fans were curious if Square Enix was having issues with the software which Yasue quickly debunked.

"There was nothing wrong with the Luminous engine at all," Yasue answered. "We decided that Unreal 4 was right for us. There was a huge network of people actually using it, we were communicating with the Japanese people at Epic a lot - it was like a complete product."

Meanwhile, new gameplay details are rumored to be included as well. Sora will have the power to wield a Keyblade Armor.

In this video, TheGamersJoint says why a Keyblade Armor would be a great addition to Sora's arsenal, since older Keyblade owners in KH 2.5 HD ReMix are able to equip the armor. They can be seen wearing a Pauldron which they press to equip the armor.
