Kim Jang Hoon Launches Miracle Tour: "There Is More to Korea Than K-Pop"

On December 14th, a signing ceremony was held at the Los Angeles Korean Cultural Center kicking off the partnership between Kim Jang Hoon and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Susan G. Komen Foudation is a foundation advocating a cure for breast cancer.

Kim Jang Hoon is set to embark on a US tour under the name "Kim Jang Hoon Miracle Tour" wherein a portion of the ticket sales will be going to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Tickets are set to accomodate and will be priced as low as $10 to $20 dollars.

During the signing ceremony Kim Jang Hoon walked in wearing pink pants and a suit coat top. He introduced himself in English, but quickly had to retrieve his notes form his pocket.  It was an endearing sight to see the Korean rock-ballad artist to try and communicate in English. After reading the letter from his notes,  he said that he will be speaking in Korean from that point forward. The introduction was about his decision to donate some of the proceeds from his U.S. concert to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Shortly after the quick intro, the contract signing between the two partners, Kim Jang Hoon Foundation and Susan G. Komen Foundation happened.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation gifted Kim Jang Hoon with a shirt that combined both Kim Jang Hoon and Susan G. Komen Fountaion into one. In the center of the shirt, a pink heart was printed where in inside was the inscription, "Kim Jang Hoon Miracle Tour. Thank you for sharing your heart with Susan G. Komen LA".

After the official signing activities, Kim Jang Hoon engaged in short interviews with the press.  During the exclusive interview, KpopStarz asked Kim Jang Hoon why he chose to partner with Susan G. Komen for his U.S. Miracle Tour.  To which, the rock-ballad singer responded that  it was because he wanted more people to be aware of this organization that is trying to find a cure for breast cancer. He also chose it because it is a global organization. Then, getting a bit away from the Susan G. Komen Foundation, KpopStarz asked Kim Jang Hoon about his thoughts on the new generation of Hallyu artists and philanthrophy.  Specifically, "Would you encourage younger Hallyu wave artists to do the same as you are doing?"  To which the known social activist replied humbly and inspiringly, "I am not a Kpop star.  I am from an older generation so I cant really give that much of an opinion on what the new generation does and should do. What I am trying to do is to show that there is more to Korea than just Kpop. I sincerely hope that the younger generation of artists will not be so materialistic."   His response surely seeks to encourage younger artists to take a step away from the spotlight and be involved in good causes.

Kim Jang Hoon's Miracle Tour concert is set to begin in the United States in early 2013, and will be organized by Kollaboration and Zion Media.
