Recent news about a supposed release for an "Iron Man 4" movie trailer has been making the rounds on the internet.

Fans initiated numerous reports about the alleged confirmation of a fourth film under the Iron Man franchise. These reports began when lead actor Robert Downey Jr. went on the Ellen Degeneres show, called "Ellen," and blurted out on live television that there will indeed be an "Iron Man 4."

After the said interview, the actor took to the internet to retract his previous statement on the show and said that there will be no "Iron Man 4" film.

This left fans wondering whether or not the actor's retraction was valid, as they say that he would not have confirmed the fourth film in the first place if there really wasn't one in the works. Some fans are certain that the actor just experienced a slip of the tongue and released vital information on live TV, an information that was supposed to be kept under wraps, which is why he later retracted his comment.

Fans say that the producers probably instructed the actor to take back his statement, to throw the public off, and make them think that there will be no "Iron Man 4," when there really is one lined up.

Previously, Robert went on an interview with Empire Magazine, where he talked about his other upcoming Marvel film, "Captain America: Civil War."

"Ultimately it's Steve's story; it doesn't say 'Iron Man 4: Civil War,'" the actor said, pointing out that the upcoming film will not be the fourth "Iron Man" film. "I think that's great too. I think Chris [Evans] has been hungry to bring even more of an underside and some shadow to that. I remember the comics - on the surface you got the sense that Cap was baseball and apple pie, but underneath there was all this churning stuff of being a man out of time. Now we know he's made his peace with that."
