Formula One Boss Bernie Ecclestone At A Loss On Michael Schumacher Health Condition; Race Champ Remains Richest Of All Time

Formula One Boss Bernie Ecclestone remains clueless about Michael Schumacher's health condition as the family imposed a news blackout. But it doesn't seem to impact on the race champ's wealth, as the latest report suggested.

In an article by Autoweek, based on an inteview with Welt am Sonntag newspaper, Bernie Ecclestone said that for now, he knows nothing about any updates on Michael Schumacher's health condition.

"This may sound strange, but it would have been more logical if he had had his accident in racing," he said. "That is the tragedy of this story. He had a lot of crashes and took a lot of risks, but for it to happen like this? It was not even a skiing race."

In a press statement, wealth intelligence firm WealthX claimed that Michael Schumacher remains the richest racer of all time despite her health condition.

"Cruising into first place on the list is seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, who has an estimated net worth of US$780 million. The retired German driver, who last raced for Mercedes in 2012, is currently recovering from a serious brain injury from a skiing accident in the French Alps in 2013," it said.

"Schumacher's wealth represents 43% of the combined net worth of all 10 men on the list, four of whom have retired from the sport," the press release added.

It's not surprising, however, since Michael Schumacher won 91 Grand Prix, which makes him the most successful driver in the history of Formula One.

But Michael Schumacher's health condition is not cheap, either, as treatment allegedly reached £10 million since the skiing accident.

According to the report from Express, the seven-time F1 champion still couldn't speak and only has "limited awareness" of the people surrounding him.

Peter Hamlyn, a spinal surgeon, told the publication that in cases like Michael Schumacher's health condition when the brain suffers massive trauma, "progress is slow, progress is uncertain."
