2015 NFL Draft & Trade Rumors: Will Johnny Manziel's Rehab Push Cleveland Browns To Accept A Trade?

Johnny Manziel should demand a trade from the Cleveland Browns, writes columnist Mike Freeman, given that the National Football League is "giving him no chance to win if and when he returns to football."

"If I were Manziel, I might indeed request a trade," Freeman writes.

"I've criticized Manziel as Eddie Haskell-a tremendous phony who always said the right things but rarely meant it. Again, I've been told that he now is different. If his sincerity is real now, he will still have to prove that to people. They will wonder if he still suffers from a sincerity deficit. In fact, at this point, I would trust Manziel over the Cleveland front office, and yes, again, I'm the idiot who once wrote you can trust Browns management. No, no you can't."

Cleveland Browns Coach Mike Pettine has confirmed that Johnny Manziel's January rehab entrance was for alcohol and substance abuse rehabilitation.

"It's more important -- the personal stuff now -- football is an afterthought so we're just giving him his privacy and [letting him] do what he has to do," Pettine told the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

"It's something that he was very resolute that needed to get done and again, I'll respect his privacy and leave it at that."

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Josh McCown has signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns, sparking draft and trade rumors on social media suggesting that Johnny Manziel may be excluded from the team's upcoming roster.

However, Josh McCown has announced that he wants to help Johnny Manziel as much as he can.

"Just life in general is too short to go through it alone or just looking out for yourself all the time," McCown said, according to NFL.

"So if you can give up yourself to others to help someone else in their journey, I just think you'll find so much more peace in life. So that's my approach when I head into a quarterback room. It's just what can I give back to the guys around me to help us be better? Because ultimately it's going to help our team."
