The Honda Civic Type R 2015 USA release has been rumored to be set on early 2016.

This is after rumors surfaced that the car's intial release has been pushed back. Previously anticipated for 2014, Honda has proven that they do not need to release an early statement for fans to keep on going back for news about their releases. 

The car is geared to be Honda's best hot hatch to date. It will reportedly boast the most powerful production engine that Honda has ever put out. 

Auto Blog reports about the car's specs:

• 2.0-liter VTEC turbo four with 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, with top speed of 167 miles per hour.
• Transmission: Six-speed manual with hard turn support and electric power steering
• Suspensions: Improved suspensions to combat torque steering
• Wheels: 19-inch wheels with Brembo brakes and adaptive dampers.
• Interior: Customized with synthetic suede upholstering, also featuring an aluminum gear knob.

The official press release for the Honda Civic Type R states the following,

"After a five year wait, 2015 sees the arrival of the world's most keenly anticipated hot hatch, the Honda Civic Type R, Billed as a 'race car for the road', the all-new Civic Type R will set new standards in the high-performance front-wheel drive hatchback segment. The production version of Honda's latest hot hatch icon is revealed for the first time at the 85th Geneva Motor Show (5 to 15 March; Stand 4250, Hall 4), and more images of the car can be viewed at: www.hondanews.eu/gb"
