K-Pop Crossover: NLT's Justin Thorne Unveils New Music Video Featuring Wonder Girls Singer Yubin

A new K-pop crossover collaboration has emerged, this time featuring former NLT band member Justin Thorne and Wonder Girls' Kim Yubin.

On Thursday, the music video for Justin Thorne's "The Heartbroken" remix premiered on YouTube. Incorporating a variety of fan footage, Thorne was inspired by K-pop fan culture to create this video.

"What's really cool about K-pop is the fan pandemonium," said Thorne according to Billboard. "They really love the culture of K-pop. One big thing that separates K-pop from just 'pop' is the way fans influence things and are so great. I thought an awesome way to do this would be to involve the fans."

And while Thorne was "a little bummed" that Yubin could not join him on the video shoot, the former NLT member can officially cross off collaborating with Yubin from his bucket list.

"I said for a couple of years, I really want to do a remix with Yubin at some point," said Thorne. "I thought she was so great, she's so beautiful. When I did this song, 'The Heartbroken,' I felt like I was influenced by K-pop. I was like, 'This is the record to do this on.' So we called her and sure enough she was gracious enough to get on it."

Reportedly, Thorne's latest EP "Faces" is set to release on April 21, and the singer plans to tour and release another EP later this summer.

And while NLT has been disbanded since 2009, the current state of Wonder Girls is still up in the air.

Last December, rumors emerged that Wonder Girls' Min Sunye had retired from the entertainment industry, not long after former bandmate Ahn Sohee's transition to acting.

"Sun still has a contract," said a rep from record label JYP Entertainment according to allkpop"What she said wasn't something agreed upon by the company and we have nothing to say as of now."

Wonder Girls is currently on hiatus.
