Tiger Woods' Girlfriend Lindsey Vonn Champions Self-Esteem For Young Girls; Skier Admits Olympics 2010 Is 'The Best Part Of My Life'

Lindsey Vonn, Tiger Wood's girlfriend and ski champion, has managed to get back from a career-ending injury and is now slowly regaining back her championship form. She hopes that she becomes an example for young girls out there to also achieve their dreams.

In an interview with CBS Minnesota, Tiger Wood's girlfriend said that she's always had a strong mindset.

"I've always been a pretty determined person, and I've always been oddly motivated, and I was always the first one on the hill and the last one off. I don't really know why, I just always loved it," Lindsey Vonn said. "I've always loved going fast."

Asked to give advice to young girls, Lindsey Vonn said, "At lot of times, girls at a young age ... they're not really aware of their capabilities and they're not encouraged in the right way, you know, those talents can go to waste."

"They shouldn't be struggling with self-confidence. They should believe in themselves," Tiger Woods' girlfriend added.

Citing herself as an example, the champion skiier sai that she's had to learned how to get back up regardless of how many times she falls down.

"I felt like throughout my whole career, I've learned the most from my adversity, from my injuries, from all my setbacks, you know. From when I didn't finish almost all the races in a season and almost quit, and you know, hired, spent all my money on a trainer to come back," she explained.

As to the highlight of her career so far, Lindsey Vonn didn't hesitate to say that it's participating in the Olympics and winning the gold medal in 2010.

She said, "I grew up dreaming about the Olympics, that was my dream as a child. And so having my family there was, I don't know, a very special moment of my life."

But Lindsey Vonn, who's had multiple surgeries on her knees, didn't have to go through the difficulties of getting back to form alone as she's had to lean on to boyfriend Tiger Woods.

"It's not so much that we talk about it, but we are sharing the same experience," Vonn told Twin Cities. "We know what each other is going through. It's an unspoken thing. It's nice (for him) to have someone that is going through what you went through."
