Here's a rundown of specs and features of the 2016 Kia Sorento, the Korean manufacturer's newly released mid-size crossover.

The all-new model has carried over two engines from the last model - a 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine that makes 185 horsepower and a 3.3 liter V6 that churns out 290 horespower. A turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder the produces 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque has been made available for the 2016 model. All the engines are matched with a six-speed automatic that can send power on either the front or all four wheels.

It will be available in four trims: L, LX, EX, and a limited SX edition.

Kia claims that vehicle can make as much as 29 mpg (highway) with the four-cylinder front-wheel-drive. If opting for the V6, fuel mileage drops to 23 mpg (highway).

Cabin features include a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and rear seat sun shades.

An 8-inch touchscreen displays information such as audio, navigation, satellite radio and internet. Its impressive audio system has been borrowed from Infinity, featuring 12 speakers powered by a 630-watt amp.

Some of the safety features include lane-departure warning system, 360-degree view cameras and an optional forward-collision warning system. Additionally, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, hill-start assist, electronic stability control and cornering brake control.

Three-inches has been added to the wheelbase, totalling at 109.4 inches. It has a length of 187.4 inches and stands 7.3 inches from the ground.

As part of it's marketing, Kia advertised the Sorento in a documentary-style video series that follows real people going on adventures using the vehicle. One of the episodes featured a woman who evidently has had a tough year, vows on going on an adventure with her friend this year. The two drive off in the Sorento going to trapeze school.

Kia has been performing quite well in the market. Last month, the company announced that they sold 58,771 units, 5,184 of which were Sorento's.
