Dustin Lance Black's Boyfriend Tom Daley Works On Getting Olympic Gold For Rio 2016 Games; Diver Positive About Getting 10 With New Technique

English diver Tom Daley is working hard to make a good impression on the Rio 2016 games as Dustin Lance Black's boyfriend is optimistic about getting a perfect score with a "firework" stunt.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Tom Daley said, "I did conquer my demons with the old dive but it got to the point where it was just a bad dive for me."

"My technique was bad so everything made sense to try a new dive. I sat down with my coach to discuss what dive we could do and we nailed it down to a forward 3½ somersaults with one twist," Dustin Lance Black's boyfriend explained.

"No one has ever done it before. We had no videos to watch and just had to go about it on our own. Lots of judges don't know how to score it yet because they haven't seen it before but it's exciting," Tom Daley added.

"Now I know I can go into competition and score a 10 in it whereas the old dive I knew I was going to be lucky to get an 8½. I am way more confident now with that dive than I ever was with the last dive."

Tom Daley has been working with new coach Jane Figueiredo, said Plymouth Herald, and spent the whole winter on a tramploine to perfect the "Firework" technique.

"There was a sense of relief when we decided to bin the old dive but the pressure was on to come up with something," said Dustin Lance Black's boyfriend Tom Daley.

"The old dive did terrify me and while I did conquer my demons with it, it's a weight off my shoulders that I've moved on because it was a bad dive for me."

"We wanted to do the least twist possible because I hate the twisting part," the diver added.
