Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Chances Of Acquiring Kevin Love Getting Higher? Rajon Rondo Leaning Towards Signing As Well

The Los Angeles Lakers have made it known that they will be looking to fortify their roster by next season. Aside from drafting a possible top 5 pick, it seems that they are poised to acquire two All-Stars in Rajon Rondo and Kevin Love.

With both stars having a so-so season for their respective squads, reports indicate that they may not be the right fit for their current team. SI.com's Rob Mahoney said that Love's stint with the Cavs is indeed hanging by the thread.

"Framing is everything. When the Cavaliers spent their nights searching, Love's five-year lows in points and rebounds per game were cast as a burden on a should-be superteam. Now that Cleveland has found both style and balance-largely through LeBron James' personal renaissance and a few midseason trades-Love's play becomes a pivot point to transcendence. It's through his contextual underperformance that one of the best teams in the league now finds itself with headroom," he said.

On the other hand, ESPN's Max Kellerman stated that Rajon Rondo will be suiting up for the Lakers by next season. Kellerman said that this report came from an insider and discussed it on Max & Marcellus on 710 ESPN.

"As I heard from people who would know told me a couple months ago that [Rajon] Rondo is mortal, about a month ago, that Rondo is a mortal lock to sign with the Lakers," he said.

Kellerman explained why this will be a perfect pair-up for both Rajon Rondo and the Lakers.

"Marcellus, when I first heard that Rondo was coming to L.A., which he is, it was about a month ago and a friend of mine who knows, who is in the business, said it is a mortal lock that the Lakers will sign Rajon Rondo. I'm not going to mention his name, but it is a very reliable source who has his ear to the ground," Kellerman said.
