Six out of twelve of the jurors who worked on Aaron Hernandez's court case are New England Patriots Fans, the Courant reports.

The jury was composed of seven women and five men and an additional three women sat through their meetings as alternates. None of the jurors who worked on the National Football League (NFL) star's case had ever served on a jury prior to this investigation.

Aaron Hernandez's "extreme atrocity and cruelty" charges led to him being sentenced to life in prison. Odin Lloyd, the NFL star's victim, was found with six gunshot wounds and was allegedly shot twice before he collapsed on the ground.

Although government officials claimed Hernandez's killing was planned and premeditated, the jurors did not agree that the state's evidence proved premeditation.

"I don't think that it indicates there wasn't premeditation, I just think it means we couldn't unanimously conclude that there was evidence of premeditation," juror Jon Carlson said, the Courant also reports.

"However, we all agreed that there was evidence of extreme atrocity or cruelty."

Aaron Hernandez is 25 years old and was born in Bristol, Connecticut.
