Korean Cultural Center of Washington DC Puts Spotlight on K-Pop, Enter to Win a Son Dam-bi Autographed Album

The surprising worldwide success of Psy's "Gangnam Style" helped raise the global profile of Hallyu, or the Korean Wave. This cultural and entertainment phenomenon, which first swept through Asia in the 1990s, has finally reached the West thanks to the singer's mega hit.

There are several young and talented K-Pop artists who have potential to follow in Psy's footsteps. Back in May 2012, Rolling Stone chose these 10 groups - Girls' Generation, SISTAR, Wonder Girls, After School, SHINee, Big Bang, 2NE1, miss A, BEAST, and Ali - as most likely to succeed in the U.S.

To celebrate K-Pop and these artists, the Korean Cultural Center of Washington DC will feature an up-and-coming singer every month on its website. This month, the focus is on singer/actor Son Dam-bi.

The center is also hosting a giveaway with a chance to win an autographed Son Dam-bi album. To enter the contest, simply "like" the Korean Cultural Center in Washington DC's Facebook page and make a post on their wall about Son. The winners will be chosen through three standards: creativity, effort, and popularity. But hurry, the deadline is today. Go to www.koreaculturedc.org for more details.

And be sure to check out the center's profile on Son!
