Oculus Rift Consumer Version Release Date Expected In December Of 2015; Are There Any Chances Of Delays?

Virtual reality gaming is now within reach as the Oculus Rift Consumer Version release date is expected to arrive Winter 2015 which is December.

However, can fans really get their hands on the VR headset at the promised release date or are there impending delays?

As of the moment, fans do not need to worry about that as Game n' Guide reported that CEO Palmer Luckey is positive that Oculus Rift consumer version release date is on track of hitting stores in Winter 2015.

"Speaking to The Telegraph, as reported by VR Focus, Luckey estimated a winter 2015 launch for the first consumer version of the VR headset" wrote Gamenguide.

Tech Radar also reported that Palmer Luckey has been analyzing the device closely to make necessary adjustments and improvements. The website added that Oculus Rift consumer version is as good as a finished product as it is now leagues better than the prototype, "DK2." Particularly, gamers will be impressed when they see the stunning resolution and over-all smoothness.

"Co-founder Palmer Luckey also stated that the consumer system's resolution would get a 'significant increase' over the DK2's 1080p display, with a refresh rate that will hit 90Hz or higher" wrote Techradar.

For those who are interested to purchase the VR headset, OVR co-founder Mitchell Nate gave some figures, "We want to stay in that $200-$400 price range. That could slide in either direction depending on scale, pre-orders, the components we end up using, business negotiations."

Palmer Luckey added, "Whatever it is, it's going to be as cheap as possible. That's really the goal."

Here are some of the features fans can expect from Oculus Version Consumer Version via Tech Time India.

"The consumer version will be aimed at a general market and feature improved components. Improved head tracking, positional tracking, higher resolution, and wireless operation are some of the features under consideration for the consumer Rift. The consumer version of the Rift will have integrated audio. The headphones will use HRTF audio so that sounds can be better located in a three-dimensional space," the source wrote.
