'Incredibles 2' Director Brad Bird Is Writing The Sequel's Script; 'Toy Story 4' Moving Forward With Original Director John Lasseter

"Incredibles" helmer Brad Bird confirms that he's already working on "Incredibles 2," the sequel to the 2004 block buster hit.

The "Ratatouille" helmer promised that he would start working on the second installment as soon as he's done with his latest Disney project "Tomorrowland," a sci-fi adventure starring George Clooney and Brit Robertson.

Bird recently offered some insight in creating characters with Little White Lies:

"I think that movies ought to work in and of themselves," he said. "A lot of movies seem to forget that, and they bring out a lot of fireballs and then wonder why the fireballs don't have that much impact, no matter how loud and how big they are. But the truth is that the fireball isn't that exciting unless you care about the person running from it."

He also mentioned that "caring" about the characters is the "greatest special effect."

Many are unaware that Bird is also a successful director in live-action movies. In 2011, he led Tom Cruise in "Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol," the fourth installment to the long running spy espionage series.

News of the sequel came up at Disney Pixar's official Facebook page last year, where they announced that they are "working on two new films" featuring characters from "Incredibles" and "Cars."

"The Incredibles" was a box office success, earning a $631 million worldwide gross during its theatrical run. The film won two Academy Awards and the 2004 Annie Award for Best Animated Feature.

Meanwhile, "Toy Story" is about to get another sequel from the first instalment's director John Lasseter.

"John created Toy Story and directed the first two films, and it's great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties." - Disney chairman Bob Iger said in a statement from Entertainment Weekly.

Studio president Jim Morris offered details about the upcoming film's plot on Disney Latino:

"It is not a continuation of the end of the story of 'Toy Story 3,' Miller explained. Temporarily it is, but it will be a love story. It will be a romantic comedy. It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children. I think it will be a very good movie."
