'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Spoilers: Executive Producer Jeff Davis Teases 'Broken' Relationship Between Stiles And Malia

After the stress of the Nogitsune, Stiles and Malia shippers were likely hoping that the couple wouldn't face too much pain the upcoming season.

Unfortunately, things are looking very grim for the newly formed couple.

Earlier this year "Teen Wolf" executive producer Jeff Davis talked to Buzzfeed about the character journeys set for the upcoming season. Sadly, he had no good news for Stiles (played by actor Dylan O'brien) and Malia's relationship, explaining that they would be tested with bad results at the end.

"This is very much a season of secrets and how secrets can break a group of friends apart, and how people can lose faith in each other. It'll be interesting to see when Stiles loses faith in Scott, where his relationship with Malia is tested and broken," said Davis.

"We're going to have a lot of character drama and conflict with that."

Davis' warning about the demise of Stiles and Malia's relationship was further confirmed in an interview with actress Shelley Henig. While she did not use any words that implied a break-up, she did say that the couple would definitely face challenges that come with being seniors in high school.

Some fans may be severely disappointed by this idea of a broken Stiles and Malia, but others who have long loved the idea of Stiles and Lydia might see this as an opportunity to revisit that pairing. At the end of season four, Davis teased that the two would be taking a detective trip to Eichen House in the new season.

Although Jeff Davis may be serious about trouble for Stiles and Malia, nothing is for certain until "Teen Wolf" returns. The premiere episode entitled "Creatures of the Night" will air on MTV on June 29.
