Yao  is a Chinese actress and the person on the social media site Sina Weibo with the largest number of "fans. She had over 71 million as of August 2014. In 2014, Time named Yao on the list of 100 global celebrities. Chen was listed as the 83rd most powerful woman in the world by Forbes.

The 'Queen of Weibo' is primarily known as a comedic actress, similar to Jennifer Aniston.  She was nicknamed Bakasura, which means big mouth, because of her magnetic smile.

She is popular because of her accessibility, conventionally attractive, but not intimidatingly beautiful.

"A woman in high heels is like a woman wearing an artificial limb," Chen famously posted to her Weibo account in 2009.

"I love to make people happy," Yao said in a recent press statement.

Yao's ascent to her current status as Chinese national treasure has been meteoric. Just eight years ago, the now was at the beginning of her career, playing a ditzy girl-next-door on Chinese martial arts comedy My Own Swordsman. The TV show was a phenomenon, airing over 100 episodes, and Yao caught the public's attention.
