Singer-songwriter, Alicia Keys, will be performing the "Stars Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl 2013 XLVII pregame event at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Although news of Keys' performance seemed to be overshadowed by Beyonce's highly anticipated Super Bowl 2013 half-time show, the 14-time Grammy winner will be taking the stage on Feb. 3 for the National Anthem.

Alicia Keys will be returning to the Super Bowl 2013 stage for the third time, more than any other performer in the history of the Super Bowl. Her performance will be streamed live on CBS before the kick off event begins.

Keys joins a list of many other stars who have also had the honor of singing at the Super Bowl. Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, Kelly Clarkson, Natalie Cole, Faith Hill, and Billy Joel are among the many entertainers who have graced the Super Bowl stage.

Super Bowl 2012 became the most-watched television program in history with 111.3 million viewers in the US.
