'Dragon Ball Super’ Plot Finalized By Akira Toriyama; Can Fans Expect Adult Gotenks?

The "Dragon Ball Z" franchise is making a comeback as a new anime series entitled "Dragon Ball Super" was announced two weeks ago. "Dragon Ball Super" will air on July and with that said, what can fans expect in the new series?

One thing for sure is that "Dragon Ball Super" plot is already finalized by Akira Toriyama and the ball is in the hands of Toei Animation to give life to another "Dragon Ball" saga. (Via Design and Trend)

"As I read the plot [of the series] I've already received from Akira Toriyama, my dreams for this begin to expand. An enemy even stronger than Buu or Freeza may appear," Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki said.

With that said, fans can expect the Z Warriors to power-up as well and they might even get to see an all grown-up Goten and Trunks who can transform into adult Gotenks. Here's a glimpse.

Design and Trend also reported that Toei Animation intends "Dragon Ball Super" to follow the same route of "Dragon Ball Z" in terms of number of episodes which is rumored to go more than 100 episodes.

With that said, that gives plenty of room for Toei and Akira Toriyama to build on villains that can also appear on future "Dragon Ball Z" films, much like what they did with Frieza.

Also, Toei Animation said that if "Dragon Ball Super" gets a warm reception, the anime series might get another 100 episode extension.

Masako Nozawa, the voice of the show's main protagonist Son Goku, shared her enthusiasm to give life once again to perhaps the most popular animated character in Japan.

"I've used the word 'cho' (super) in so many commercials, games, and other media, it is fantastic that the long-awaited 'Dragon Ball Super' will finally begin," Nozawa said.

Design and Trend also noted that the biggest reason why Akira Toriyama and Toei Animation decided to make "Dragon Ball Super" is due to the success of "Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F."
