22 Killed in Collision, 24 Injured in Bus and Truck Crash at United Arab Emirates Highway

At least 22 migrant workers were killed in a highway truck crash in the United Arab Emirates. The truck was filled with gravel and had bad breaks which lead it to fatally run into a bus.

"Brig. Gen Hussein Ahmed al-Harethi, head of Abu Dhabi's police traffic division, told the official news agency WAM that the truck driver lost control after the vehicle's brakes failed," ABC News reported.

The crash which took place on Monday near Al Ain, east of Abu Dhabi, left 22 people killed and 24 people injured. Envoys in near-by countries including India and Pakistan have rushed to the sight to help in the disaster. 

It is unclear where the peolpe killed were from. However, ABC News reports that most of the laborers in the UAE and other Gulf nations comes from South Asian countries.
