Has The USA Release For The New Honda Civic Type R 2015 Been Announced? Improvements And Specs Detailed!

The USA Release for the new Honda Civic Type R 2015 has reportedly been announced.

As reported previously, numerous speculations about the car's release have surfaced the internet. However, fans are certain that the actual release for the much-awaited unit will be on early 2016.

The car was initially slated for a 2014 release, but several production challenges cause the release to be pushed back to a much later date, according to the rumors.

Auto Blog published an article detailing the car's specs and the improvements made as it was revealed at the concluded Geneva Auto Show. Fans are lining up as the Honda Civic Type R 2015 is hyped by Honda to have the most powerful production engine that their company has ever put out in a car of that type, particularly a hatchback.

On the outside, the car boasts of the same hatchback design Honda has been producing, but will feature 19 inches wheels. The interior is upholstered with synthetic suede that is set to give both the driver and the passengers maximum comfort. For safety, it will also have adaptive dampers and Brembo brakes.

Moreso, the car is set to reach a top speed of 167 miles per hour and feature a 2.0-liter VTEC turbo four, producing 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It will have a 6-mode transmission speed with electirc power steering and hard turn support. Better suspensions will also be present in the car to fight torque steering caused by the power.

"Type R vehicles have garnered a cult following around the world and the new model more than lives up to the high expectations," the official press release states. "A world-first application of Honda's new 2.0 litre VTEC TURBO engine, aggressive function-led styling, and pioneering new chassis technologies combine to deliver one of the most immersive and rewarding driving experiences available in any sector."
