Katie Holmes in reportedly dating again after her recent divorce from Tom Cruise. A report from Radar Online suggests the star is ready to "cautiously dip her toe" back into the scene. However, her past marriage with Cruise has left Katie Holmes "nervous" about going head first into the dating pool.

"Katie's in a dilemma because she wants to date, but is concerned where it could lead to from there," A family source to Katie Holmes claimed, according to UPI.com.

"[Katie Holmes is] worried that if she commits herself fully to another man, she will have to give up the freedom she's enjoying so much at the moment. As a single woman, she has no one controlling her nowadays, telling her what to do or who to see and she absolutely loves it," the unnamed source continued.

"However, at the same time, she also misses being with someone special to share experiences with and she doesn't want to be alone for the rest of her life. Katie's got [her daughter] Suri for the time being, and she is her best friend, but she does eventually want to find a man she can be that close with as well. She's just a little nervous and cautious about relationships still right now."

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise married in 2006. The former couple have a 6 year old daughter, Suri. And they announced their split--after nearly 6 years of marriage--in June.

"Tom has always made all the decisions in their relationship and called all the shots and initially Katie found it charming -- don't forget, she was pretty young when they met and compared to Tom she was hardly worldly," a source previously told Radar.

"After five years of this Katie really felt like she was going crazy and that she was actually turning into the robot that the press had always made her out to be."
