Tiffani Thiessen Surprised By ‘Saved By The Bell' Co-Star on Today; Reunion Is A 'Matter of Timing' [VIDEO]

Tiffani Thiessen may have wished she was "Saved by the Bell" when a former co-star from the iconic 1990s sitcom crashed her interview on the Today Show Tuesday morning. They the stars also spoke about the possibility of a reunion that is just a "matter of timing," Thiessen said.

Dennis Haskin, who played helplessly square principal Mr. Belding on "Saved by the Bell" was a surprise guest during the Tiffani Thiessen interview, playing game show host to the Today Show crew, as he tested their sitcom knowledge.

Thiessen--who played the popular cheerleader Kelly Kapowski on the show--did not look amused. The actress even appeared a bit taken aback by Haskin's appearance, even getting a little defensive when the topic of a "Saved By The Bell" reunion was brought up.

"It's a matter of timing and finding something that everyone wants to do," Thiessen said. "It's not like something is holding it up. There are some issues with Dustin [Diamond, who played the social misfit Screech on the show]. He wrote a book that wasn't real positive."

A larger-than-life depiction of teenage life in the fast lane, "Saved by the Bell" followed the life of several students at the fictitious "Bayside High School," in Los Angeles, as they made their way through a world where all adults are idiots and a good scheme is the answer to everything.

The show ran on NBC for seven seasons, between 1993 and 2000 and spawned one series spin-off, "Saved By The Bell: The College Years" and two made-for-TV movies, "Hawaiian Style" and "Wedding in Las Vegas". There's even a comic book.

Yet, for the show's legion of fans, many who embraced the show's escapist look at the drab realities of high school, apparently that's not enough.

And Haskin for one, is all for it. Last month the actor told TMZ, "I have always supported a reunion of any kind including all of us." He added, "Honestly, the fans still love us and our show so much...they deserve it!"

The late night television host Jimmy Fallon attempted a "Saved by the Bell" reunion on his show back in 2009, but Thiessen allegedly thwarted his efforts. An anonymous source told Us Weekly in June of that year that, "In her mind, a reunion would remind audiences she hasn't done anything for years."

However with her career in an upswing--Thiessen is currently appearing in the USA series "White Collar"--perhaps she will be more comfortable with a Bayside High School reunion.
