Ellen Pompeo Accused Of Getting Patrick Dempsey Fired On 'Grey's Anatomy' Due To Affair: Evidence Points To Otherwise

"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 may have concluded, but the drama continues with the rumor between former co-stars Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey.

According to The Inquisitr, Patrick Dempsey's ex-wife Jillian Fink divorced him after Ellen Pompeo told her about the alleged on-set affair the actor had been having while filming "Grey's Anatomy." Despite the timing between his departure from the series and the divorce, Dempsey's rep has called the allegations "ridiculous."

"It was kind of on the fly," said actor James Pickens Jr. to EW regarding Dempsey's firing. "So whatever information we got, we pretty much got it kind of right before it happened."

Given the severity of these accusations, Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo's relationship should be on the rocks, but a recent interview with the actor does not indicate any animosity between the pair.

"It's magic," said Dempsey regarding their chemistry. "It's beautiful. We're like a married couple. It's been 10 years, and it was magic from the beginning. [Great] chemistry right away."

Dempsey later called his relationship with Ellen Pompeo as "very good" post-firing.

According to Radar Online, Patrick Dempsey allegedly had an affair with a "Grey's Anatomy" staff member starting last August, and that was the ultimate cause of both his departure from the ABC series and his divorce this January.

"It was obvious to everyone Patrick was [sleeping with] her," said a source.

"It got very messy and emotional on set and became a huge liability. Patrick would remain in his trailer after hooking up with her on set and refuse to come out. He had also been complaining about the storyline of his character, and felt he wasn't getting enough screen time."
