New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft recently announced that his team will accept penalties imposed by the National Football League (NFL) over the "deflategate" scandal.

"Although I might disagree with what is decided, I do have respect for the commissioner and believe that he's doing what he perceives to be in the best interest of the full 32," Kraft told reporters. 

"So in that spirit I don't want to continue the rhetoric that's gone on for the past four months. I'm going to accept, reluctantly, what he has given to us and not continue this dialogue and rhetoric and we won't appeal."

Last week, Tom Brady filed an appeal to the NFL via the NFL Players Association, asking for a neutral party to hear the argument.

Commissioner Roger Goodwell was selected to rule on the case.

Brady was officially suspended from the NFL earlier this week and is expected to be deprived of $2 million in salary earnings if the suspension is maintained, the New York Times reports.

Brady may be suspended from for regular-season matches without pay because of his alleged involvement in the "Deflategate" scandal. The NFL claims Brady, and several other New England Patriots players, were involved in a scheme to improperly deflate footballs during last season's A.F.C. championship game.
