Apple Watch Prices Will Drop As Orders Continue To Fall [RUMORS]

Orders for the Apple Watch have continued to decrease within the last few months, sparking rumors on technology forums that the company will consider dropping the prices of its models.

Google's News & Weather application for the Apple Watch only displays headlines and photos of top stories, TIME reports.

It provides users with approximately 12 headlines with accompanying images at a time.

The pre-order price for the Apple Watch 18-karat Gold edition cost up to $17,000. Pre-orders for all versions of the device were made available on April 10.

Nomad, the developer of NomadClip and ChargeKey, is releasing a Pod for the Apple Watch, which functions as a portable battery pack for the new device.

It is currently available for pre-order at a $60 price tag.

The Apple Watch includes features that allow users to receive calls on their device.

Apple's Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook revealed the feature during a pre-release date event in San Francisco.

The price of the device is double the amount of the average smartphone, a report published by independent research firm Smartwatch Group reveals.

According to the research company, about 6.8 million smartwatches were sold in 2014 at an average price of $189. This means that the Sport version of the Apple Watch is twice as expensive as the average smartphone.
