Tracy Morgan Condition: Tracy Morgan Speaks About Fatal Wal-Mart Crash; Tracy Morgan/Wal-Mart Settlement Discussed

Tracy Morgan spoke about the accident that left the "30 Rock" star injured and cost the life of his friend and mentor, the comic James McNair for the first time. Morgan spoke on the TODAY show with Matt Lauer less than a week after settling a lawsuit against Walmart over the June 7, 2014 crash.

"The case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac," Morgan told The Today Show.

The Tracy Morgan Legal-Bay lawsuit settlement was discussed in a report from Case Funding Firm. Tracy Morgan and Walmart reached a settlement over the New Jersey crash last year that injured Tracy Morgan and killed comedian James McNair when a Walmart truck hit their limo van on the New Jersey Turnpike.

According to USA Today, Legal-Bay LLC, The Lawsuit Settlement Funding Company, announced today that a settlement has been reached between Tracy Morgan and Walmart regarding the New Jersey crash that occurred last year when a Walmart truck hit his limo van. The settlement terms are confidential and will not be disclosed.

"An amicable settlement is always best for all parties, but unfortunately many commercial truck and bus accidents on highways typically take years to settle," Chris Janish, CEO of Legal-Bay, said in a statement.

"This is where our company can be of great value to plaintiffs attempting to get true value on their particular case, by taking a cash advance today instead of taking a low offer on a case."

Tracy Morgan released a statement that he was grateful the case was resolved amicably. In the crash, Tracy Morgan was seriously injured and had broken leg bones and a broken nose, as well as several broken ribs.

Comedian James McNair was also in the limo van and tragically died, by way of wrongful death in the accident. Earlier this year, court papers showed that Walmart had settled for $10 million with McNair's family. It is expected that Tracy Morgan's settlement value was in excess of $10 million.

"Motor vehicle accidents can be tragic, as in this case where someone's life was lost," Legal Bay, said in a statement.

"Personal injury cases involving car accidents, truck accidents, limo accidents, van accidents, or any other type of motor vehicle, can be devastating and complex in nature. Legal-Bay also assists consumers who have had personal injury or slip and fall cases in large department stores like Costco, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, and K-Mart and have valid claims, as these cases tend to drag on. Legal-Bay is once again reaffirming their commitment to helping victims with lawsuit money, pre-settlement and settlement funding, as well as a range of other services and lawsuit guidance if they need a lawyer.

Morgan started as a stand-up comedian at Harlem's Apollo Theater before he was hired for "Saturday Night Live" where he was a cast member from 1996 until 2003. In "The Tracy Morgan Show" ran for one season in 2003 before it was canceled.
