Amanda Knox's Ex Raffeale Sollecito Back In Court In Relation To Meredith Kercher's Murder Case? Faces Defamation Suit

After escaping the Meredith Kercher murder case, Amanda Knox's Rafaelle Sollecito finds himself facing a judge again as he was sued for defamation by Perugian prosecutor Giuliano Mignini for insulting the Italian police authorities.

According to the Examiner, the preliminary trial of Raffaele Sollecito will be scheduled in May next year.

Rafaelle Sollecito has written a book titled, "Honor Bound: My Journey to Hell and Back With Amanda Knox," for which he was paid $1 million. However, the texts apparently contained some accusations against the police in connection to the Meredith Kercher murder case trial, which led to the lawsuit.

"Unfortunately, it appears that their literary triumphs have now turned into legal troubles. Accusations of defamation have been brought against both of them and their books will be bringing them back to the court house," the article said.

Guiliano Mignini has been accused of abusing his authority in order to pin down Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito to the murder of Meredith Kercher. He was also sued on the same charge, but was eventually cleared back in December.

"The court's ruling finally settles the long debated question of Mignini's record: He has no abuse of office conviction, and there is no longer any active investigation into such allegations," the article said.

In March this year, Raffaele Sollecito and Amanda Knox were cleared of Meredith Kercher's murder by the Italian Supreme Court.

"The Court of Cassation threw out the second guilty verdict against Knox and her Italian former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 31, for the murder, saying there was insufficient evidence to convict either of them, a Reuters report said.

After the acquittal of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito, the 27-year-old Seattle native called for a press conference outside her home where she said, "I'm still absorbing the present moment, which is full of joy. I'm grateful to have my life back."
