'Five Nights At Freddy's 4' Creator Scott Cawthon Says 'Something Big Is Coming'

When it comes to the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise, one could definitely say that "the devil is in the details."

Earlier this month, a new "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" teaser appeared on creator Scott Cawthon's official website, featuring a purple hat and bowtie. Recently it was discovered that Cawthon captioned the photo differently once he uploaded it to his IndieDB page, stating that "something big is coming."

As usual, the guys at 8-bit Gaming decided to analyze what this interesting detail means, even going as far as analyzing it in the context of what the teaser photo is titled when you save it to your computer.

"The fact that it's 4.1 leaves us guessing at what it is," said 8-Bit Gaming's Ryan.

The main theory that 8-Bit Gaming suggests is that the next teaser will be a 4.2 version, or an image that shows a different version of the purple hat and bowtie. Specifically, they believe that perhaps the teeth that fans found hidden in the shadows will perhaps be clearer.

Or, if there's not a new version of this specific teaser, the "something big" could potentially be a teaser trailer or even a new 8-Bit mini game. The mini-games, as fans remember, played big parts in "Five Nights at Freddy's 3." Given that "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" is supposed to be the final game, it does seem plausible that there will be multiple teasers in different formats to keep fans entertained while they wait for the game.

As with every theory, there's always the chance that Cawthon is leading fans to a false conclusion. That is, to say, no theory can be held with certainty. Nevertheless, part of the fun of "Five Nights at Freddy's" is coming up with theories that may or may not be true.

"Five Nights at Freddy's 4" is set to be released October 31.
