NBA Draft 2015: Minnesota Timberwolves Not Sold On Karl-Anthony Towns Just Yet; Prospect Wouldn't Mind Playing For T-Wolves Or Lakers

The Minnesota Timberwolves are in a position where they could get a player that can turn their franchise around. The top 3 projected picks in Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor, and D'Angelo Russell are deemed as talents who can't be missed.

The question is, can the Minnesota Timberwolves capitalize in this opportunity and select the right talent that will fit their system more?

After weeks of not participating in team workouts, Karl-Anthony Towns finally visited the T-Wolves practice facility and showed them what he's got. But, the former Kentucky Wildcats told Yahoo! Sports that the management did not guarantee that he will be the one they are drafting come draft night.

''If I had a promise I would go start eating ice cream and getting fat,'' Towns said Monday evening. ''There is absolutely no promise at all. Right now I'm just trying to see where I'll be playing. I have no idea.''

He also said that he met with team officials and he praised coach Flip Saunders and CEO Glen Taylor.

"Flip Saunders is a great coach and a great guy. Glen Taylor is the same way. He's a great human being,'' Towns said. ''We just talked more about how do I feel about basketball and just about life, just trying to learn more about my personality.''

Asked about the possibility of playing for the Los Angeles Lakers instead, he said that it does not matter what team he lands on.

''It doesn't matter to me where I play,'' Towns said. ''It matters what you do at the place you play at. It doesn't matter how successful or how unsuccessful a team is. It can all change with one pick.''

Lastly, Minnesota Timberwolves head coach guaranteed that whoever lands as the first overall pick, there will be a huge room for growth in the organization.

''We want to give these guys a chance to develop and develop at a more rapid rate, and I believe that we've proven as an organization that we can develop players and you look at how Wiggins developed from when we got him to where he was at the end of the year, and we'll continue to try to do the same with who we take at the No. 1 pick,'' Saunders said after the Wolves was handed the 1st pick during the lottery.
