'Fate/Grand Order' iOS Android Release Date Scheduled For Summer 2015

Ufotable's "Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works" may be over, but there's still plenty of "fate" series to be had on other platforms.

With the end of the latest "Fate/stay night" adaptation, a "Fate/grand order" mobile game release date has finally been set for this summer. According to the latest preview trailer, fans in Japan can expect the game to hit their respective app stores in July. Fans can watch the new "Fate/grand order" trailer below.

As the release date was only confirmed for Japan, many fans responded to the news with hope that the game would be adapted for release in North America.

"This is so amazing. I want this so badly! But, in West, not in a million years. Unless we must convince Type-Moon to bring this awesome game to the West by making a petition," said LightningXV on CR.

The original "Fate/stay night" creator Kinoko Nasu is credited for writing and overseeing the original scenario for the game alongside Yuichiro Higashide and Hikaru Sakurai. Takashi Takeuchi created the original characters and art, however the game will feature designs by a number of different artists. Fans can check out the full list of contributors here.

Anime News Network reports the followings scenario for "Fate/grand order":

"The game takes place in 2015. The player takes the role of either a male or female amateur master candidate from the "humanity continuation security organization" named "Caldea."

It goes on:

"The organization exists to amend the periods of human history that have gone awry and out of order. The protagonists use the "Fate" system to summon great heroes of the past and undertake seven Holy Grail quests (called Grand Orders)."
