Em Ford, who is the star of YouTube channel My Pale Skin, is showing us that online harassment is not only very, very real, but also just plain unacceptable.

Ford recently posted a video on YouTube addressing the harassment that she received regarding the makeup free images on her social media.

The results were stunning.

“Three months ago, I began posting images of myself without makeup on social media. The following film contains real comments that were left on images of my face,” wrote Ford in the description of the video she directed.

“I wanted to create a film that showed how social media can set unrealistic expectations on both women and men. One challenge many face today, is that as a society, we're so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that It can be hard to remember the most important thing - You ARE beautiful.”

The video features Ford without makeup, surrounded by the negative comments that she received. Ford then puts on a full face of makeup as positive comments begin to pop up around her.

The irony is that Ford still received negative comments with or without makeup.

The time has come for online harassment to come to an end. For those of you who are or have suffered it, Ford said it best.

“You are beautiful - no matter how flawed you feel, no matter how upset you may about the way you look or how hard you find it to make friends, or be confident. Believe in yourself, and never let anyone tell you're not beautiful - not even yourself.”
