Corey Brewer, Patrick Beverley Re-Ups With Houston Rockets; Does This Mean They Are No Longer In Pursuit Of LaMarcus Aldridge

The Houston Rockets are bringing back key players from last season as point guard Patrick Beverley and defensive wing Corey Brewer re-ups with the team.

Does this mean they are no longer in the mix for LaMarcus Aldridge's services?

Patrick Beverley signed a four-year, $25 million contract with the Houston Rockets as per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Upon signing with the Rockets, Beverley spoke with Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders and he said that he is excited to be back with the Rockets.

Moreover, Beverley told Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, "I'm just so glad to be back. This is biggest contract of my life."

Patrick Beverley was the 42nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft and nobody thought that he will have a chance to play in the league. But Daryl Morey and the Houston Rockets took chance on him and he was able to flourish as a premiere defender in this league.

"This is the only team in the league-I am very loyal-only team in the league that really took a chance on me," Beverley said per Feigen. "At the end of the day, I understand it's a business."

Meanwhile, Corey Brewer also signed a three-year, $25 million deal. As per ESPN's Marc Stein, "Sources say Kings/Brewer talks actually broke off BEFORE serious offer stage. Brewer then re-engaged w/Rockets, where he wanted to be along."

With these series of moves, Ben DuBose tweeted that the Houston Rockets are accepting the fact that Aldridge is not signing with them.
