Former US President George HW Bush had a medical scare on Wednesday after figuring in a bad fall.

According to a report on CNN, Bush fell while he was at home in Kennebunkport, Maine. The fall resulted in him breaking a bone on his neck.

His spokesperson, Jim McGrath, immediately assured the public that the former US President's bone breakage was not life-threatening. He also said that Bush might be discharged from the hospital soon.

"We are not expecting a long stay," McGrath told CNN.

In a report on The Guardian, meanwhile, a hospital spokesman said George HW Bush was hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon.

"He was brought here earlier today and diagnosed with a fracture in his neck," Maine Medical Center spokesman Matt Paul said as quoted by The Guardian. "He is in stable condition and will be wearing a neck brace."

In a tweet, McGrath also reiterated that there was nothing to worry about regarding the former US President's condition.

"41 fell at home in Maine today and broke a bone in his neck," he tweeted. "His condition is stable -- he is fine -- but he'll be in a neck brace."

41, according to The Guardian, is what the former politician is called as he sat as the 41st President of The United States of America from 1989 to 1993. Well-wishes from various personalities immediately poured for Bush as soon as reports of his fall surfaced as cited by NBC News. Among them were his former people, Chelsea Clinton, George Takei and Montel Williams, who all pray for his immediate recovery.

"Best wishes for a good and speedy recovery to my former boss and great patriot, President George H.W. Bush," tweeted Michael Johns.

"Sending all my thoughts and good wishes to President Bush for a speedy recovery," tweets Chelsea Clinton.

"Pres. George H W Bush fell while horseback riding, injuring his neck," tweets Takei. "We wish him a speedy recovery & hope he's back in the saddle soon."
