World renowned hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg made his appearance on episode four of Show Me the Money 4, much to the surprise of Korean and American fans alike.

Fans were confused to see the artist appear as a guest judge on the survival program since Snoop Dogg has little understanding of the Korean language. Content Director of Oogee Woogee, Wilkine Brutus, however, was able to offer up some insight on Snoop Dogg's cameo despite the language barrier.

"The 'it' factor in artists/performers is observable without spoken language," Brutus explained in his article "This is How Snoop Dogg Understood Korean in the 'survival rap' show in South Korea."

Brutus compares Snoop Dogg's inability to understand each contestant's Korean raps with the difficulties of American music listeners understanding fast, multisyllabic versus in American rap and hop hop songs; most specifically referencing the group Bone Thugs -n- Harmony.

"I guess it's no different for international fans who enjoy black American music without understanding the lyrics and for those unable to speak the English language. As humans, we vibe with different energies but we have a universal taste for certain styles, rhythms and beat," Brutus continues. He also ends the article sharing his personal interest in WINNER's Mino.

Brutus also validates what many fans of K-hip-hop and pop have been saying about their interest in Korean music, that music is more about touching listeners' hearts instead of their language.

The recent TV cameo is not Snoop Dogg's first time appearing in the Korean pop scene. He teamed up with global icon PSY for his hit "Hangover" last summer. He is also a self-proclaimed huge Girls' Generation fan and invited 2NE1 to perform with him during he Seoul concert in 2013.
