Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus Rumored Release Date And Specs: 5.5-Inch Screen With Snapdragon 808 Chip

The success that the Samsung Galaxy S6 has gone through the roof and that doesn't stop the Korean tech giant from producing more variants of the highly successful smartphone release.

Furthermore, a new Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus is rumored to have a release date very soon after the specs have been unofficially been confirmed by GSM Arena.

In the report, the projected release date of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus is bound to happen on the third quarter of the year.

For its specs, just like the original version, it is equipped to work with the new Samsung Pay and improved fingerprint sensor that triggers PayPal transactions.

For its screen, the phone is slated to have a 5.5-inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors, provides 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution and is yet to be confirmed if it would be protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is however confirmed to have the curved edge screen that was introduced recently.

For its under the hood specs, the S6 Plus would run on the latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset, a dual-core Cortex-A57 and quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU packed with a powerful Adreno 418 GPU that could provide top notch graphics.

In addition to all of that, the S6 Plus is slated to have camera specs of a 16-megapixel-rear camera that could deliver 2988 x 5312 pixels. The camera is slated to have autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, Auto HDR and panorama features.

With no release dates set for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus for now, fans need to wait until fall to see what the tech company would have in store for their loyal fans and consumers. For now, we have an almost detailed specs and features that the smartphone could possibly have.
