Baron Davis Free Agency Rumors: PG To Give It One Last Shot With Either Cleveland Cavs Or LA Clippers?

Will fans finally get to see the return of electrifying point guard Baron Davis? All signs are pointing to a yes as he will reportedly try out for some teams during the off-season.

In an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, the point guard is confident that he can still go for one more season.

"This is the first time I'm going to put myself out there, I'm going to try out for some teams," Davis said.

Right now, Davis is 36 years-old. Although some might doubt that he might get outran by younger point guards, he said that he still have plenty of gas left in the tank.

"At his age and with so much time off, it's doubtful that he'll be able to make much of an impact on the court in 2015," ProBasketballTalk's Sean Highkin referring to Davis' potential comeback. "But if a team is looking for a veteran presence and an insurance policy at point guard for the end of the bench, there are plenty of worse options out there."

It is worth noting that last year, he sat down with TMZ and he confirmed that some top-seed teams are inquiring for his services last season. According to the report, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Clippers are the frontrunners to acquire him but no deal materialized.

Furthermore, his main role is supposedly mentoring point guard like Kyrie Irving for the Cavs and coach Doc River's son, Austin Rivers for the Los Angeles Clippers.

"The #3 overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft -- has been speaking with several squads who feel he could be a good backup for a young point guard. We're told the Clippers and the Cavs are among the playoff contenders interested in Davis with the Lakers also in the conversation."
