Sika deer are popular among tourists in Nara, Japan as they’re known for “bowing” for food when they want it, according to the publication Mashable.

Several tourists didn’t meet the most polite deer when they were on their trip as the animal decided to let out long shrieks when it saw the tourists.

“We noticed this lone deer making strange whining sounds and thought it was pretty funny,” YouTube user shapiro127, who uploaded the clip, wrote in the description of the video.

“But we could not have prepared ourselves for what happened next. Easily one of the funniest and most unexpected moments of me and my friends’ lives.”

It’s not clear as to why the deer is screaming, although there is speculation that the deer wanted some food.

The recently uploaded clip does give us all a new perspective on deers. We had always thought they were quiet and calm. Clearly, that’s not always the case.

We have to admit, the deer still manages to be adorable.
