Jamaica defeated the United States 2-1 on Wednesday in a Semifinals match of the 2015 Gold Cup (Copa Oro). 

The United States, which is set to face off against Panama for third place, dominated the game and held possession for a longer span of time. Jamaica, scheduled to play Mexico in the final match of the tournament, was the underdog.

The North American team's Wednesday loss was the first at home to a team from the Caribbean since 1969, the New York Times reports. It is also the first time the USA will not head to a Gold Cup final since 2003. 

There were a total of three groups within the 2015 Gold Cup. Group A included the United States, Haiti, Honduras and Panama. Group B included Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jamaica and Canada. Group C included Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago.
