Floyd Mayweather Vs. Andre Berto Confirmed? Erik Morales Not Pleased With Mayweather's Selection

Floyd Mayweather is scheduled to fulfill the last fight in his 5-match contract with Show Time on September 12 but it seems like he won't end it in a spectacular fashion.

The American boxer is scheduled to fight Andre Berto, who lost three of his last six fights. After defeating Manny Pacquiao, people are probably expecting him to step it up a bit more.

One of those who are not impressed with Mayweather picking Berto is Mexican boxer Erik Morales.

"Floyd is very intelligent, and he continues to demonstrate his skill. I don't think it's a very competitive bout," Morales told ESPN Deportes, as stated by Boxing Scene.

"It's two fighters who, without being racist, almost nobody wants to see," he added. "Perhaps the fight is interesting for them, but for us, not."

One of the reasons why Morales thinks it will be a lopsided match is because Andre Berto was defeated by Victor Ortiz and Marcos Maidana, both also bowed down to Mayweather.

Perhaps, Mayweather is cautious of his undefeated streak and he might want to end his career with flying colors.

"He does not want to take a risk," Morales said of Mayweather. "He has never wanted to take a risk, and he doesn't want to take a risk now."

Earlier this month, Mayweather was weighing his options between Kareem Mayfield and Andre Berto. In a report by TMZ Sports, Mayweather vs. Berto was already good to go, but according to Boxing Scene, both sides are still negotiating the terms and conditions for the fight.

"We're waiting like everyone else," the source said via Boxing Scene. The undefeated Mayweather is expected to officially announce his opponent next week while Berto is waiting for the official announcement.
