Katherine Webb's Sexy Vanity Fair Photo Spread: Brent Musberger's Fantasy Girl Says She Always Felt Like An 'Ugly Ducking' [VIDEO]

Katherine Webb tells Vanity Fair Magazine that she has always felt like an "ugly ducking" in the magazine's April issue.

"It's kind of ironic that I'm in this position that I'm in now [as a national sex symbol] because I grew up as the ugly duckling," Webb told the magazine. "I was always the tallest girl in my class, and it made me have really bad posture because I wanted to seem shorter than I really was. It really reflected how I felt about myself. I spent most of my youth in school feeling really insecure about the way I looked because I was different."

Webb, who is dating University of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, made national headlines when ESPN commentator Brent Musburger went on a 30-second tirade during the live broadcast of the BCS National Championship game back in January, to gush about the beauty of Miss Alabama 2012.

"What a beautiful woman!" Musburger raved. "Whoa! Whew!"

Musberger also said boys "tossed around the football" in hopes of landing a girl like that.

Katherine Webb defended Musburger's borderline creepy comments to Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today Show" the day after the game.

"I think the media has been really unfair to him," Webb said. "I think that if he would have said something along the lines of that we were hot or sexy or made any derogatory statements like that I think it would have been a little bit different. But the fact that he said we're beautiful and gorgeous I don't know why any woman wouldn't be flattered by that."

Perhaps it is Webb's not-so-pretty pass that allows her to be so forgiving of Musberger's comments.

"For me to go from feeling like I was the ugly duckling to winning Miss Alabama U.S.A., and going on to Miss U.S.A. and taking pictures for Sports Illustrated and being labeled as one of the most beautiful women . . . I love sharing that with girls who are in my position at that age and kind of coaching them," Katherine said.
