'Five Nights At Freddy's 4' Theory Says The Lock Box Could Be A Missing Animatronic [SPOILERS]

If you have somehow missed the explosion that ensued at the release of "Five Nights of Freddy's 4," the game is now available for purchase on Steam.

For the less brave, there's plenty of lets plays and walkthroughs on YouTube.

Now that the game has been played religiously by its many followers, a seemingly unlockable box has been discovered at the end of the secret Night 7. Some fans of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise have begun to theorize what could be within the secret locked box. The major theory seems to point to the Puppet from "Five Nights at Freddy's 2," since the Puppet was the only animatronic not present in "Five Nights at Freddy's 4."

"I now think the Puppet is in the box. The Puppet has to be around somewhere. Perhaps the box will provide some closure on why the first victim chose the Puppet to possess. I like to think the Purple Guy bribed the first victim with the Puppet, the child refused, so the Purple Guy shanked him," said LaserScrewdrivr on Reddit.

This theory about the Puppet was further endorsed by popular gaming channel 8-Bit gaming. Inspired by the heading "perhaps some things are best left forgotten," the two Ryan's pointed out that there's still many questions surrounding the origin of the Puppet and the motives of the Purple Guy.

8-Bit Gaming further argues that the Puppet is only animatronic that could fit in the somewhat tiny box, given that it is a marionette with no endoskeleton. So perhaps inside the box, fans will find something to explain the beginning of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" murders.

Especially since there's still no confirmation of who the Purple Guy is.

As with all theories, creator Scott Cawthon is never one to give too much away, so nothing is for certain. Here's hoping however that the lock box will soon be opened, and end the series definitively.

Unless of course, there's a "Five Nights at Freddy's 5." In which case, I'll still be hiding from the nightmare animatronics.
