Tom Cruise's Scientology faith is known in Hollywood and his devotion to the religion have allegedly prompted him to kick out his teenage niece from their family.

The "Edge of Tomorrow" actor has been accused of banning his niece to a different state after catching her "making out" with a boy.

According to an interview with former Scientologist Nick Lister, Tom Cruise's niece, Jamie Lesavoy, was kicked out from the family in 2004 when she was 14.

"She made out with a boy on Tom Cruise's property, just made out. It was caught by the cameras,"  Nick Lister said in an interview uploaded on theGrowing Up Scientology YouTube channel.

"Tom Cruise decides it's unbecoming for a Scientologist in his family to do such a thing and he kept her from family functions and sent her across the country from L.A. to Missouri and then Florida.".

While it was merely a kiss, the ban allegedly lasted for more than two years. It was Cruise as well as his sister Cass Mapother, the teenager's mom, who decided the banishment.

Nick Lister said that he knew the story as he is close friends with Tom Cruise's niece.

"We were really, really good friends. She had talked to her mom earlier that day and she said, 'I really want to be back with the family.' Her mom wasn't having it," he said.

Previously, many thought that Tom Cruise's Scientology days would be over because the actor allegedly wanted to spend more time with his daughter Suri. The reports appear to be untrue because the "War of the Worlds" actor has allegedly taken on a new task for his religion - the establishment of a news network that's reminiscent of CNN.

The network, which is under the Scientology Media Productions, will solely be devoted to the religion. Insiders of Redbook also said that the "Top Gun" actor is helping his religion to construct a studio which will reportedly amount to $50 million.

The studio will be used to film recruitment videos and other things relevant to Scientology. Some suggest that Tom Cruise will use the studio for his own Hollywood films.
