Charlotte Hornets News: Are Nicolas Batum And Frank Kaminsky Wise Pick-Ups For MJ's Team?

Nicolas Batum will get his fresh start with the Charlotte Hornets next season.

He played his worst season as a Blazer last season as he averaged career lows 9.4 ppg, 5.0 rpg, and 4.8 apg. He was able to maintain a double-figure scoring for the past five seasons.

This past off-season, he was traded to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Gerald Henderson and 2014 NBA Draft 9th overall pick Noah Vonleh.

However, rumors are surfacing that Batum was requesting the Blazers management to ship him to Toronto as that is a place close to his family.

Grantland's Zach Lowe reported that the French forward has made a lot of noise with regards to playing for the Raptors but his wish was denied.

"Batum's people have already made noise about how much Batum would like to play in Toronto, a city that appeals to his international roots, per several league sources. He is a flight risk, even though both [general manager Rich] Cho and Chad Buchanan, the team's assistant GM, know Batum well from their days in Portland," the website stated.

After seeing that report, Batum immediately clarified that he is happy to be a Hornet via his Twitter account.

The website further took a shot on the Charlotte Hornets drafting ways. According to Lowe, picking Kaminsky that early is not a good one as several players drafted after him will turn out as better prospects.

"But Kaminsky is not a star, and the players Charlotte could have grabbed with those four picks will almost certainly produce more combined over their careers than Kaminsky. And the Hornets know they cannot afford to screw up the draft."

Before judging the Charlotte Hornets off-season, it is better for fans and critics to let both guys play for their new teams and see if they were worth it.
