Caitlyn Jenner Reality Show Gets Mediocre Ratings; Ex-Olympian Not Well Liked After Transition?

Caitlyn Jenner's solo reality show got mediocre ratings when it premiered last weekend. Based on the report from Reuters, the former Olympian seems to not be well-liked after transitioning into a female.

Ratings data revealed that Caitlyn Jenner's reality show "I Am Cait" debuted with 2.7 million viewers. The said number was far from the reported 17 million people who tuned in to her tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer, where she first admitted that he is a transgender woman.

The E! Network docuseries follows the former "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" patriarch's transition from Bruce Jenner into a 65-year-old woman named Caitlyn. Aside from showing her adjustments and speakership opportunities to help fellow transgender people, the program also featured the reactions of Caitlyn Jenner's family and close friends.

While the TV star's coming out interview with Diane Sawyer rated well, "I Am Cait" reportedly only gathered one-third of the total viewers of ABC's "Celebrity Family Feud," which aired on the same time slot as the docuseries.

The ratings for Caitlyn Jenner's reality show was also far from the reported eight million people who tuned in to the ESPY Awards, where she received the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage.

The report also revealed that surveys conducted by Nielsen Talent Analytics showed how not a lot of Americans welcomed Caitlyn Jenner's transition. The athlete turned TV personality's "offensiveness" rating reportedly went from 16 percent to 26 percent ever since her Diane Sawyer tell-all.

Caitlyn Jenner's reality show was even rumored to be without the support of her son, Brody Jenner. According to a report from Digital Spy, the "Sex with Brody" star clarified why he and brother Brandon Jenner will not be part of "I Am Cait."

"I don't think you need to share every single bit of your personal life with the rest of the world," Brody Jenner said.

"I believe in a little bit of privacy. The reason why my brother and I didn't do the show is I've been doing reality TV for a really long time and I just wanted to do something different. "

"That's nothing to do with me being unsupportive. I think that's great if that's what she wants to do, all the power to her but just because she wants to do that doesn't mean the rest of the family have to jump on board," he pointed out.
