Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown tragically passed away on Sunday, July 26, nearly six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub. According to People magazine, Bobbi Kristina Brown died Sunday surrounded by her family. But there was one important person from her life that wasn't there: her boyfriend Nick Gordon, who grew up alongside her.

The 25-year-old boyfriend was photographed by Us Weekly outside his Florida home on Monday, July 27, just hours after Brown's passing. He had Brown's engagement ring on a chain around his neck.

Gordon has not spoken publicly about the death of the 22-year-old singer, but his mother, Michelle Gordon, offered condolences on her son's behalf.

"The passing of Bobbi Kristina is devastating to Nick and our family," Michelle said in a statement to Us Weekly on July 27. "Nick loved and cared for Krissy deeply, and he has suffered greatly each and every day they've been apart. . . .Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Houstons and the Browns during this difficult time."

According to TMZ, prosecutors are trying to slam Gordon with an involuntary manslaughter charge. Sources say "authorities believe Nick's alleged crime is arranging to get drugs for Bobbi Kristina the day she almost drowned in her bathtub," TMZ writes.

It's looking like it's very possible Nick won't be able to make it to his fiancee's funeral. The funeral itself is in the crosshairs of a family dispute. According to People, Bobbi Kristina Brown was expected to be laid to rest in New Jersey next to her mother on Monday after a funeral on Saturday in Atlanta.

However "both sides [of the family] are still not happy and on the same page," the source of the Browns and Houstons told the publication. "There is a lot going on behind the scenes. There is a lot to do in a very short time."

Another source added: "Things are constantly changing."
