'Law & Order' Director Arrested! Jason 'Jace' Alexander Apprehended On Child Pornography Charges!

"Law & Order" director Jason "Jace" Alexander was arrested on Wednesday on child pornography charges, the New York Post learned.

According to the Westchester County DA's office, the director was apprehended for allegedly promoting a video showing a girl stripping and masturbating.

The criminal complaint alleged that fifty-one-year-old Alexander, of Dobbs Ferry, promoted said video, depicting a young girl aged 12 or 13 years old, by making it available for viewing in late June on the Torrent network.

Apparently, the director, who is the only son of actress Jane Alexander, also has a video file that shows a little girl, probably between the ages of 6 and 8 years old, performing a sexual act on herself. Investigator Andrew Garcia of the DA's High Technology Crime Bureau shared this information.

The prolific director, who is known for directing more than 30 episodes of "Law & Order", 19 episodes of "Rescue Me" and some episodes of "The Blacklist" and "The Practice", faces one felony count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one felony count of possessing obscene sexual performance by a child.

Westchester County DA Janet DiFiore announced the charges Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly reported.

A press release from DiFiore's office revealed that Garcia downloaded child pornography traced to a local IP address on Friday. The investigation that followed pointed to the "Law & Order" director's home as the origin of the IP address, and a search of the director's computer hardware yielded the files.

"A forensic examination of computers and external hard drives removed from the location revealed digital files of children who are less than sixteen years of age engaged in child pornography," the press release stated.

Alexander is currently being held on $10,000 bail. His court date is set for Nov. 19, and if convicted, the director faces up to seven years in state prison.

The "Law & Order" director, who moved to Dobbs Ferry in 2000, is married to actress Maddie Corman with whom he shares 11-year-old twin boys.

Just last month, Alexander was elected second vice president of the Directors Guild of America.
