San Antonio Spurs News: What To Expect From Tim Duncan And The Gang? Gregg Popovich Knows

The San Antonio Spurs, for the first time in recent memory, will be one of the most anticipated teams to watch once the season begins.

That's because they hauled in the biggest prize in this year's free agency in All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge and a proven veteran like David West. Also, it would be interesting to see how a 39-year old Tim Duncan will be able to course through another season.

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich answered that question in a recent interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio. He told them not to expect much as Tim will be the same old boring guy who will bring in the usual numbers.

"Same boring game. He's going to come to the game, Popovich said. "He's going to score X number of points and X number of rebounds. He's going to lead, he's going to tell me what to do during the game and then we're going to go home. It's going to be the same routine as usual."

Despite that statement, the whole league should not be complacent when facing this team. A report by Rant Sports notes that the team will be playing their hearts out this year as this might be their last chance to make a title run per Tony Parker.

Fans should not be worried as well that some key players were lost in the recent off-season per Fox Sports. Despite the loss of Marco Belinelli  and Cory Joseph, the emergence of Kyle Anderson and Jonathon Simmons, plus the acquisition of Ray McCallum from Sacramento will be more than enough for them to have a deep bench.

"Marco Belinelli's shooting will be missed, but Kyle Anderson and Jonathon Simmons can bring things to the table that the Italian did not," as stated in the website. "Aron Baynes is a legit backup center who has more mobility than a park bench, but I think the Spurs are gonna play small most of the time anyway with Duncan or Aldridge as their centers."
