Minnesota Timberwolves News: Flip Saunders Unveils Plan For Young T-Wolves Squad Next Season

The Minnesota Timberwolves roster is brimming with immense potential right now.

With the acquisition of 2015 top overall pick, Karl-Anthony Towns, and continued development of last season's rookie of the year, Andrew Wiggins, the T-Wolves has no way to go but up.

With that said, Yahoo Sports caught up with coach Flip Saunders and he gave a glimpse of what fans can expect from the young squad next season.

One of the issues they are facing is their consistency behind the 3-pt line. However, Saunders said that Ricky Rubio will hit them when needed and Andrew Wiggins is now a more consistent shooter.

"Ricky is gonna be OK. I think he'll be an adequate shooter," Saunders said. "He has such an impact doing other things, he doesn't need to be a great shooter. He just needs to knock down 18-footers, and maybe some corner 3s. Because if you lay off of him, he'll take that slack and come at you - and create for someone else."

But he clarified that he will remain focused on what his players are great at.

"Do we need to make 3s? No question. I think Andrew will become an adequate 3-point shooter. The bottom line is, you have what you have," he said. "If your best players aren't 3-point shooters, you can't just make them 3-point shooters. We need to build around them and get some other players who can stretch the floor."

But looking on the bright side, he has big men that can stretch the floor and make some perimeter shots.

"And here's the big thing: [2015 No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony] Towns, KG, and [Adreian] Payne are not post-up bigs. They knock down 18-footers with regularity. So it's not like we'll have no spacing,'' he said of Towns and Payne.
